6 days Uganda wildlife and Mabamba swamp safari will take you to Mabamba wetland, an area of immense ecological importance harboring to over 300 bird species with the globally threatened species inclusive such as the elusive shoebill stork. Enjoy the spectacular Murchison waterfalls and the Big five mammals with an en-route to Ziwa rhino sanctuary. This package as well entails chimpanzee trekking at Kibale National Park popular for harboring vast primate species and wildlife viewing in Queen Elizabeth National Park which is the country’s most visited National Park known for its abundant wildlife and plentiful bird species. Cruising along the Kazinga channel that harbors one of the world’s largest concentrations of hippopotamuses and the best wildlife viewing spot is very rewarding, engrossing and beyond compare.
You will be received by our driver guide who will brief you through your travel itinerary and transit to your hotel in Entebbe. Check-in and have an early lunch after which you will be driven to Mabamba swamp situated on the northern shore of Lake Victoria 12km west of Entebbe town. Mabamba swamp is a wetland of international importance harboring several bird species and more so the globally threatened bird species. The bird life within this wetland will be explored on a local canoe ride with the guidance of a birder who will share information and help you spot various bird species. You will ride following different trails in thick marshes as you look out for bird species like the shoebill stork, great blue turaco, swamp flycatcher, papyrus Gonolek, pied kingfisher, grey parrot, green cuckoo, double toothed barbet, yellow-billed duck and many more. Get back to the hotel for dinner and an overnight.
Have your breakfast served and checkout to be transferred to Murchison falls National Park with a stopover at Ziwa rhino sanctuary for rhino trekking. Ziwa rhino sanctuary is the only place in Uganda where rhinos can be seen while you follow after them on foot with the guidance of an experienced ranger guide. During your rhino trekking, several other wildlife and bird species will be spotted after which you will proceed with your drive to Masindi for your lunch. After lunch you will be driven to Murchison falls National Park to catchup with an afternoon boat cruise upstream to the bottom of the waterfalls. You will spot several bird species roam the Nile River as you sail amidst schools of hippopotamuses while you capture the Nile crocodiles sunbathing along the Riverbank. Retire off the boat cruise and be driven to your lodge to check-in for dinner and an overnight stay.
Enjoy your early morning breakfast and hit the northern section of the Park for game viewing as you are driven along trails such as the Victoria trail, Albert trail and Buligi track while you gaze at the Park’s vast birdlife and animals for example the African elephants, lions, buffaloes, leopards, giraffes, warthogs, Uganda kobs, Jackson’s hartebeests, oribis, to mention but a few. You will return back to your lodge to have lunch after which you will checkout to embark on your drive to Kibale National Park. Kibale National Park harbors one of the highest diversity and concentration of primates in the entire Africa. The Park harbors up to 13 primate species including the endangered chimpanzees, red colobus, black and white colobus, rare and vulnerable L’Hoest’s monkeys and many more. Arrival will be in the afternoon to check-in at your reserved lodge for dinner and an overnight.
Have your breakfast and proceed to Kanyanchu Park headquarters to catchup with a briefing about chimpanzee trekking etiquettes. The ranger guides will lead you into the dense forests as you embark on the search of our close relatives. Trekking the endangered chimpanzees can last for about 30 minutes to 4 hours depending on their movements while you gaze at several bird species and other primates like olive baboons, blue monkeys, black and white colobus, red-tailed monkeys to mention but a few. You will return to your lodge for lunch after which you will checkout to be driven southwards to Queen Elizabeth National Park with a stopover at Kikorongo to have an experience of the equator line as well as a cultural performance from Kikorongo Equator cultural performers. Arrival will be in the late afternoon to check-in at your lodge to have dinner and an overnight.
Wake up to a scrumptious breakfast and hit the Park’s savannah plains for game viewing where you will encounter the early risers of the jungle and nocturnal animals as they rush back to their hide outs. You will look out for several animals for example the lions, elephants, buffaloes, warthogs, hippopotamuses, waterbucks, Uganda kobs, bushbucks, oribis and many more. You will as well enjoy the nature’s masterpiece as you capture the enchanting sunrise while golden sunrays hit your camera after which you will return to your lodge for lunch. After lunch, head off for a boat cruise along the Kazinga channel while you sail close to schools of hippopotamuses and crocodiles. Vast bird species will be spotted as well as several animals quench their thirst and cool temperatures along its shores. Return back to your lodge for dinner and an overnight as wait to set off for Kampala in the next morning.
Have your breakfast served in the early morning and checkout of your lodge to be driven back to Kampala with a stopover in Mbarara for your lunch. After lunch you will proceed to Kayabwe where you will enjoy the equator line environment as you have your feet stepped in both the southern and northern hemispheres. You will enjoy your photo session as well as making visits to craft shops to purchase some souvenirs to take with you home. Arrival will be in the late afternoon to either be dropped off at a hotel of your choice for relaxation or direct to the airport to catch your outbound flight back home.
